License
Bought on the Mac App Store? You're covered, at home and at work. The App Store version of VMherd is licensed under Apple's standard license agreement. Nothing else to sign, no license keys.
The App Store version
VMherd from the Mac App Store is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA) and the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Use it on the Macs you own or control, for personal use and for work: managing your homelab, your own company's servers or your customers' servers is all fine.
- Companies can buy copies for their people, for example through Apple Business Manager, and use them on Macs the company owns or controls, as the Usage Rules allow.
- Updates come through the Mac App Store.
The source code
The source code is published at github.com/WietseWind/VMherd under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0. You may read it, build it and use your own builds for non-commercial purposes. Commercial use of the source code, or of builds you make from it yourself, needs a separate license from The Integrators BV: see LICENSE-COMMERCIAL.md. This does not apply to copies bought on the Mac App Store.
Open-source components
VMherd includes open-source components and the Barlow and JetBrains Mono fonts under their own licenses (MIT, Apache-2.0, SIL Open Font License and others). Their license texts ship with the app and are listed in THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.md.
